Christams Eve: The Real Reason For The Season

Christmas eve services are coming on us quickly! (Time for me to get out and do a little shopping) I am looking forward to being with you all this Christmas eve. I shared over the weekend that I can't remember a time, a Christmas eve, when I have spoken live, this will be a first for me and I am really looking forward to it.

I hear the phrase this time of year that I'm sure most of you are familiar with; Jesus is the reason for the season. While that sounds great and their is nothing necessarily wrong with that, I believe that is wrong. During our Christmas eve services I am going to share what the Bible says is the real reason for the season.

Remember, even if you don't have enough tickets for everyone you want to invite - bring them anyway. We only do the tickets to help balance out the evening crowds. We plan for your friends and family members who did not get a ticket before the services.

See you Christmas eve...

New Month, New Start

Today is a great day to begin reading through Proverbs. Many of you have been doing this over the last several weeks and are beginning to see Life Transformation as you read the Bible looking for the principles of God that are always at work.

Proverbs is the book of wisdom. It is packed full of the principles that God created the universe to operate on. His principles are working in our daily lives, in fact, every decision we make throughout our days intersects with God’s principles. The more we know and understand them the more we will make decisions that are in His will and the more we will live the purpose and plan He has for us – remember - His plan for you is good! (Jer 29:11)

Here’s how it works, it’s so simple. There are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs. Today is the 1st of December. December just happens to have 31 days in it. Reading one chapter a day (about 5 min. worth of reading) will get you systematically through the entire book before the New Year.

Take five min and get started on this all new path to discovering the principles that God has for us to live by. I love how they begin in chapter 1 with the purpose of the Proverbs:

“…(to)teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise…to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives…” Prov 1:2-3 (NLT)
